Grind and Relax

I have two favorite places on campus. One of them is the Grainger Library. Grainger library is perfect for studying, sleeping, or a quick coffee. I frequent the 2nd floor almost every day to find a place to do my school work. It’s quiet, and you have a booth like a desk that helps you with privacy. It also comes with its own outlet and ethernet outlet, so you don’t need to scavenge for them. My one gripes with this place are the fact that it’s usually packed during the weekends. However, the Grainger library is open 24/7, so you could drop by at 2 AM, and it would be half empty.  It has a Royal Expresso on the first floor to supply you with coffee to fuel your midnight grind sessions.

The basement, 1st floor, and 3rd floor provide spaces and resources for group study. There are big desks with a tv-sized monitor with HDMI cables so you can link your desktop to it. Additionally, there are glass panels or whiteboards for the group workspaces. Grainger has all the resources for a study space to get your work done.

My other one is the little fountain area near the Boneyard Creek. It is right next to Grainger Library, where I can go to relax after a study grind.  It has two white benches with a few trees hovering over it. During the summer/spring, the leaves hang over the bench providing a lovely shade from the sun. The fountains are turned off when it gets cold but turn back on when it becomes warmer. It’s a bit quieter, and the fountain water rushing drowns out the noise pollution from the city. The bench is just big enough where you could lay down horizontally (depends on how tall you are ofc) and take a nap. I hang out here to relax.

What are your favorite places?
